Overcoming Fencing Challenges in Penticton: OK Vinyl’s Expertise in Action
A Project with Constant Change
In Penticton, BC, OK Vinyl Products was called in to complete a commercial chain link project for a salmon rehabilitation run. While on the surface it looked like a straightforward fence installation, the reality was far more complex.
The project involved 590 feet of commercial chain link fencing, but what made it truly challenging was how quickly the conditions and requirements kept changing.
The Challenges We Faced
Our crew’s biggest hurdle wasn’t the installation itself—it was keeping up with changes that arrived almost daily:
- Shifting Layouts – After augering post lines, we were told to move them and even introduce curves where straight runs had already been prepared.
- Elevation Adjustments – With the sudden decision to add an extra foot of topsoil, every post had to be adjusted higher to align with the new grade.
- Tight Deadlines – The site had to be ready for a scheduled celebration, leaving no room for delays despite the constant revisions.
These challenges required flexibility, clear communication, and quick problem-solving.
Meeting the Deadline
Even with changing instructions and shifting site conditions, our team stayed focused and adaptive. By reorganizing work schedules, adjusting installations on the fly, and maintaining close communication with project stakeholders, we delivered the fence on time.
The celebratory event went ahead as planned—with the fencing securely in place.
